Penford Food Ingredients Receives Non-GMO Dextrose Certification

Penford Food Ingredients, Englewood, CO, has received certification for its dextrose product, CanTab®, as a non-genetically modified organism (GMO). The certification from independent authority, Cert-IDSM, verified that Penford’s dextrose product complied with the newly announced European Union regulations pertaining to labeling and traceability of GMOs. According to the company, it is the only recognized U.S. manufacturer producing non-GMO dextrose in the U.S. Non-GMO CanTab is produced from non-GMO corn as well as other naturally non-GMO sources, such as tapioca and potato.
